Our Virginia wine journey began in 2004 with a lot of excitement and a plan to craft wines that appeal to both, seasoned wine drinkers & casual drinkers alike, in a fun-unassuming-relaxed environment...along the way we have honed those ideas and ,also, added some new. Each new vineyard and winery season is approached with that same level of excitement and, we hope, that the story we crafted that season comes across in each of our bottles you drink.
Located in historic Goochland County, Circa 1728, halfway between Richmond and Charlottesville, was a plot of land with dirt and trees and a small road that would eventually become 72 acres with 7 1/2 acres of vines known as Byrd Cellars.
Distinctly crafted in our vineyard and winery to enhance the unique flavors profiles Virginia brings to a bottle of wine. We strive for excellence while keeping the wine approachable and fun!
Approximately 2,800 cases (33,000) bottles of wine each year keeps our 3 generation wine family very very busy.
Everything you need to might need to know to ensure the most pleasurable experience possible when you visit Byrd Cellars Winery.
