Byrd cellars is located on two properties .  This is the Piedmont area of Virginia. Rolling hills in all directions, there is practically no flat ground.  Eastern sloping hills are great for early spring start up vines like Chardonnay and western facing vines line a slower start up like a Merlot, Cabernet Franc vines
